Coastal Cake Company began with a long time love for art and pastry. Inspired by her mother, at fifteen Marieke began working at a small tea & coffee house were she started her baking career. Ten years later Marieke graduated at the top of her class in the Baking and Pastry Arts program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.  Since then she has received her Red Seal designation and has worked as the Head Pastry Chef for on of the largest catering company in Western Canada. Today Marieke owns and operates Coastal Cake Company from her studio bakery in Parksville, British Columbia.
